CLOTHING GUIDELINES

CLOTHING Freshly laundered, SPRING & SUMMER ONLY

  • Girls clothing: sizes 0-16

  • Junior girls clothing: sizes 0-9 (no adult)

  • Boys clothing: sizes 0-20 (no adult)

  • Lightweight pajamas, robes (slippers if they are part of a set)

  • Socks and tights brand NEW in package

  • Infant onesies and T-shirts: sizes 0-24 months

  • Outerwear: lightweight jackets, jogging sets, spring dress coats, raincoats, rain boots, umbrellas

  • Shoes: includes sandals, sport shoes, dress shoes, tennis shoes, roller blades, cleats, roller skates, and dance shoes; there is no limit

  • Maternity: Tops, pants, jeans, jumpers, nursing tops, and dresses; no underwear or bras

 

TYPES OF CLOTHING NOT ACCEPTED AT THE SPRING/SUMMER RESALE:

  • Out of Season Clothing (flannel, corduroy, or other winter clothing)

  • Fall or Christmas-themed clothing

  • Halloween costumes

  • Winter coats

  • Winter boots

  • Underwear (with the exception of infant onesies) or training pants

 

Clothing must be in very good condition. We reserve the right to reject unsatisfactory items with:

  • Stains

  • Rips

  • Missing buttons

  • Broken zippers

  • Mothball, smoke, or musty odors

  • Worn out or out-dated

  • Excessive pet hair

 

SECOND CHANCE FOR CLOTHING

We do not accept stained clothing.  However, many times items can be salvaged with Oxyclean or by using the following recipe:

¼ cup of automatic dishwashing detergent

½ cup Clorox II

1 gallon HOT water

Soak clothes in solution for eight hours or overnight.  After presoaking, put clothes in the same solution for a thorough machine wash cycle.  This recipe is good for white and colored clothing, but always check first for color-fastness.

 

BEDDING & FURNITURE

  • We accept nursery or children’s bedding sets (comforters, bumper pads, sheets, pillows, lamps, rugs, bed spreads, shams and curtains)

  • Blankets or sheets in good condition

  • We accept cribs (by law, cribs with drop-down sides cannot be sold), changing tables, rocking chairs, toddler beds, twin beds and desks. All items with multiple parts MUST be identified as a set and taped together. Due to space constraints, no adult furniture please; only children’s furniture will be accepted.

  • All furniture needs to be assembled by the seller at drop off.
     

EQUIPMENT & ACCESSORIES

  • We accept strollers, child seats for adult bikes, pack ‘n’ plays, walkers, gates, nursery monitors, highchairs, etc

  • Baseball/softball helmets

  • NEW in package pacifiers and new/"like new" bottles without the nipples

  • Bottle warmers

  • New/"like new" sippy cups

  • Breast pumps and accessories (minus the tubing)

  • Cloth diapers in good, clean condition

  • Thoroughly cleaned potty seats/diaper pails

  • Hair bows in baggies

ITMES THAT CAN'T BE ACCEPTED

  • NO liquids of any type (lotions, soaps, etc.)

  • NO earrings allowed for health reasons

  • Due to safety concerns and recalls, we are no longer able to accept car seats or booster seats, including stroller travel systems which have a car seat; bumbos without safety straps; or bike/skating helmets.

TOYS

  • We accept items such as Little Tikes type kitchens, workshops, tables, jungle gyms, doll houses, bicycles, scooters, and wagons, etc. Any small or loose pieces should be placed in Ziploc bags and taped to item.

  • All types of baby and children's toys, board games, puzzles, and children's books

  • Please take the time to clean obvious dirt/grime from toys-they may be rejected on this basis alone.

  • Please take batteries out of all toys before bringing to the sale. A battery table is available for shoppers to test toys, if needed.

  • We are unable to accept toys for donation.

 

TOYS THAT CAN'T BE ACCEPTED

  • Stuffed animals (Interactive stuffed toys are acceptable)

  • Video/Computer games (Educational games that are part of a game system are acceptable)

  • Video tapes/DVDs/CDs

  • Fast food kid’s meal toys

  • Puzzles that are not in a box

  • Christmas themed toys

 

Final approval of submitted items will be made at the time of drop-off
by the Sorting Supervisor on duty.
